| Bio: | My username is the pinyin of my Chinese name: An Shutian. An, my surname, is derived from my English surname, Anderson. It means peace (it's the same an as in Tiananmen (as in the Square)). Shutian is two characters making up my first name. Shu means to express. Tian means heaven (and many other things; again, it's the tian in Tiananmen). So, roughly, my first name translates to "heavenly expression." I actually made it up all by myself, and then a native Chinese friend verified that it was, in fact, a good Chinese name, and not the equivalent of a Chinese person naming themselves Hercules. Shutian kinda somewhat sounds like my English first name, which is what I was going for. | |
